Betty Sittig

Betty Sittig has been a Florida resident since 1959 and spends her time between Tallahassee and Port St. Joe. She describes herself as a self-taught traditional artist who enjoys creating her painting as much asseeing how much people enjoy her work. This very active grandmother overcame her 'empty-net' syndrome with palette and brushes and finds inspiration in all of nature.
In Tallahassee, Betty has shown her works at the Old Armory Gallery, LeMoyne Art Gallery, Big Bend Hospice, Quincy Art Gallery, and the Florida Art Center in Havana. Her last two awards were Third Place by the Tallahassee Watercolor Society and Second Place at the "Insiders' Show" at the Old Armory Gallery.
In addition to her painting, Betty owns and manages Bay Artiques, a gallery in Port St. Joe, Florida which features her work and other original artwork by local area artists. Her gallery is located at 301 Reid Avenue and she can be reached at 850/229-7191.
