Sam Kates is a prolific acrylic painter in St. Joe Beach.  After retiring as Executive Director of the Wiregrass Museum of Art (Dothan) and as President of the Southeast Alabama Regional Arts Alliance in 2002, Sam knew he wanted to paint full-time...and he hasn't stopped since!  He is a regular participant in the Southeastern Arts (Tallahassee), Indian Summer Festival (Eufaula), Kaleidoscope Arts Festival (Dothan), ArtsQuest Arts Festival (Seagrove), and assorted art shows here in the forgotten coast area.
