President Ouellette explained to all potential Board members the need for attendance at all meetings.  This is included in the By-Laws which are available on the web site.  Board members should be familiar with all organizational policies—an important one being the requirement for each Board member to chair existing project/program committees.

The GALA Annual meeting and installation of new officers and Board members will be held at Windmark on February 18, 200 at 6:00 ET.  Tickets can be purchased on-line at the GALA site.

Ed Tiley announced he had ordered a new play for the Community Theater and that Dan Wheeler may be available as director.  Mr. Tiley advised he was resigning from the Board due to relocation out of the area and, as a founding GALA member suggested that Franklin County be brought back into the organization.  A motion was made by Don Ouellette and seconded by Amber Davis to give Mr. Tiley and Honorary Membership in GALA.  The motion passed unanimously.

Steve Kerrigan asked for an explanation of GALA’s mission.  Amber Davis read the Mission Statement that is currently on line on the GALA website.

Don Ouellette advised that approximately $3,000 remains in the budget for Arts Education which must be expended before June of this year and asked the Board to come up with some ideas for the program.

Amber Davis advised the importance of using the GALA website as a tool for understanding the functions and activities of the organization, as well as keeping up with current information.

Board Members discussed and volunteered to chair the nineteen existing project/programs.  More discussion will be held after the meeting adjourns.

After some discussion, it was decided that future GALA Board meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Complimentary tickets the Junior Service League’s Mardi Gras GALA were distributed.

A motion was made by Ed Tiley and seconded by Amber Davis to adjourn the meeting.  The motion passed unanimously and the meeting was adjourned.
