Leon Wiesener
Leon David Wiesener has been a pastel and charcoal artist for the past 45 years. Trained at FSU with both a BA and a MFA in painting, Leon taught art throughout the southeast, including as a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee. He also worked for 18 years as the Scenic Artist for a Knoxville firm and painted sets for the Miss Universe Corporation.
Now retired, Leon is currently teaching in Carabelle and his work can regularly be seen at art galleries and art shows.
My work is usually very large because of the sense of scale I picked up working on theatrical sets for so long. However, I am trying to reduce scale where needed. My work reflects my observations, but also includes references to our current social condition.
